Having started brewing since the age of 16, Ronald is no stranger when it comes to coffee. 

He went on to start his own cafe in the heartlands of Toa Payoh and later was head hunted to be the Country Manager of Joe & The Juice Singapore & Hong Kong.

" It was a fun and enriching experience for me. I spent 3 months in Copenhagen learning the ropes on how to set up a chain store and to manage operations efficiently. "

In 15 months, Ronald built 6 outlets across Singapore and Hong Kong and managed a team of approximately 60 people before moving on to set up King's Cart Coffee.


" Coffee is my passion and I love everything about it! From the farming processes to the stages of roasting onto the craft of extraction and latte art. Every cup of coffee spells a story from the farmers to the roasters and baristas. I wish to share this romance with the world. "

Ronald is the head of operations and business development. He is also a specialist in cafe operations and provide consultation services to businesses in similar field.

Maggie Chen attained the outstanding achievement of becoming a Q Grader - the highest certification within the coffee industry. 

 

Q Graders are accredited coffee specialists who undergo intense training and assessment to be able to rate coffee in line with protocols outlined by the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).​

The accreditation curriculum is designed for professionals who are involved in the tasting and evaluation process of coffee as part of their

profession. The process to become an accredited Q Grader is challenging and difficult. So much so that the average pass rate is only around 25%.

Throughout the world, there are approximately 5000 Q Graders with 34 of them based in Singapore.
